What is your most loving memory of IB5?
Wow. Being an IB 5 myself, it is pretty hard to narrow down my most loving memory. Oh! Here’s one. It was during our midyear exams. A bunch of us, Lewis, Michelle, Adlina, Azam, Eugene, Aimran and Khairil, went to Subway for lunch. So we had our usual lunch and started talking. Mind you, the usual thing we talk about is our private lives. So we started talking about it. And we were pretty loud in there so we decided to move outside and continue our chat. And I suggested that we should play “I never.” The game goes like this: someone starts by saying “I never….” And any of us in the circle that has done it, has to drink. So yeah, that was fun alright! Funny, shocking, surprising. But of course whatever we talked about stays in the circle. I wouldn’t say that’s the most loving memory but that’s definitely one of the best memories of IB 5. My most loving memory would be all the times that we, IB 5, spent time together as IB 5. Not all the time the whole of IB 5 hung out together but mostly the majority of us would. And those were the times that all of us would bond and would have a great time being around each other. It doesn’t matter if we are the PETRONAS scholars or the self-paid students, all of us clicked! There’s always something about IB 5 that kept us together this whole time and made us into one happy IB 5 family. This is one family I’ll never forget. As an IB 5 student myself, I will never forget you guys. Will definitely keep in touch no matter what. I love you, IB 5!
What is it that you will miss about them?
What will I miss bout IB 5 would be all the hangouts that we had. When IB is over, we would all go our separate ways and I’ll definitely miss the time when we all hung out as a class. I’ll miss our outings to Subway. I’ll miss our futsal outings. I’ll miss our post exams outings. I’ll miss our Padang Kota outings. Gosh.. there’s just so many of them. Thank god it’s 5.30am in the morning and that I’m tired. If not, I’ll probably cry my heart out while typing this! That’s it. The main thing that I’ll miss about IB 5 is our hangouts. Those are the times when we would laugh our ass off about something stupid or tell each other secrets about ourselves. Those are the times that we would get closer to each other. Get to know each other better. Mostly, just being there around each other and just hanging out and talking and drinking and eating. I remember if we would go to Subway, we would conquer the right side of the store where they’ve got the long sofa and we would combine all the tables to fit all 15 of us. And when teachers hang out with us, we become crazier! I’m not going to miss only the IB 5s, but the teachers as well. Since they play a huge part in our IB lives, they deserve to be missed. And to some of them who have been to our IB 5 outings, they know how crazy we can get and how open we are to each other. IB 5 is not just a class, but a family. Yes, we fight and argue and get upset with each other and we have our own drama going on in the class. But those are just small bumps along the way of this IB 5 experience. We are more than that. IB 5 is more than that. We, IB 5 students, are a bunch of teenagers who love one another and we stand up for each other and be there for each other whenever we need them. We don’t separate ourselves. I mean, when we are all together, and we hang out, we really are like a family. And I really am going to miss that about IB 5. Yes, no doubt I’ll miss them individually too. But IB 5 means a lot more. Just all of us being together. I love you, IB 5!

What is your most loving memory of IB5?
Playing futsal with them. We’ll be running about for about an hour or so but be @#$% tired at the very end. I still recall the time Akmal kicked the ball at my face. It was more funny than anything else. LOL...great times....
What is it that you will miss about them?
Their unique nature, each and every one of them. Especially during the breaks, chats during meals have always been pleasant, strangely moving and sometimes....just disturbingly fun. :0

What is your most loving memory of IB5?
It would have to be when I went for KLIMUN with 5 people from IB5. Spending a whole week together, from day to night to day, can bond people; or it can just annoy one or both sides. But I had the best time with them and am not likely to ever forget that. My first KLIMUN experience AND getting to know (and becoming close to) the 5 IB5 KLIMUN representatives is not something I want to forget. Especially our late night hang out sessions ;)
What is it that you will miss about them?
I’ll miss talking about anything and everything under the sun with them. Random topics that can be funny or insightful, ones that let us share experiences. Thank you! =)

It’s amazing that Khairil’s facial expression never changes – whether he is ridiculed, joked about, reprimanded - especially by me when I had to chase him for his IAs (note IAs in the plural) or when I give a pep talk about how his mum is concerned - after she has seen me during the 3-Way Conference - and he should be serious about his performance. All he would answer is just one word to my long questions – Yes?
What is it that you will miss about them?
As I was their HRT, I would not miss taking their attendance in the morning “that is if they came on time” (Ouch!!! Ouch!!! Ouch!!!). On a not serious note – they are a cheerful potpourri of human nature. I love their rich, lively humor – as sarcastic as they may get between each other in their jokes, they just take things in their stride – I will surely miss them all.

What is your most loving memory of IB5?
And here I thought I’d finished saying everything I could about IB5 in my column! Most loving memory? I have so many of these that when I try to focus on just one my mind undergoes a blackout. The most memorable event for me, I think, would have to be my 37th birthday, which IB5 celebrated with me at The Curve’s TGIF. They paid for the meal and tried to make me sing standing on a chair. Another great memory is our first CAS trip to Penang in August 2008. They were new to me then, and it was during that trip that I discovered what a wacky bunch they were.
What is it that you will miss about them?
I will miss: Lewis’ smart-ass comments; Aimran’s Looney Toon personality; Azam’s sharp sense of fashion; Adlina’s grace; Yati’s brilliant smile and general “coolness”; Hakim, Hazman & Akmal operating like the Three Musketeers (All for one, one for all); Hannah & Eileen acting like twin sisters separated at birth; Khairil being smartly goofy; Averlance Lighthawk being the oddball that he is; Eugene, Ken Loon & Michelle being such GREAT characters and taking me out for dinner.

The IB5-ers are such an unpredictable lot. Every day is a new day with them around. You never know what to expect. Never a dull moment, you can be sure. Taxing and vexing moments are aplenty. They are such a colourful lot. With them, you have to go with the flow. No point in planning ahead as they chart their own course, for better or for worse.
What is it that you will miss about them?
Aimran wearing pyjamas to school
Lewis and his ubiquitous flip-flops
Going down to Reception for the 8th time in one day, to fetch late-comers.
Lewis jumping over the fence
Eileen in slumberland, head on the desk.
Aimran and his costumes, e.g. the elf.
Yati in the corridor with…
I could go on, but the list would be too long. Mostly – I will miss their colour.

What is your most loving memory of IB5?
The IB department comprises such a small unit of people and that makes it extra special. Since we have so few students, we have to ‘make do with what we have’ and the seniors didn’t disappoint! Basically there’s a brotherly bond among the guys. I mean imagine being attacked in the middle of the night by Him and his used boxers, or sleeping in your senior’s late grandmother’s bed, playing futsal weekly, or washing puke off his face because he got wasted. Those are good memories, man.
What is it that you will miss about them?
Their unpredictability and distinctive personalities, which stems from the fact that they are bold enough to follow their own school of thought. I’m pretty sure we’ll still see each other even when IB’s over, so no biggie.

What is your most loving memory of IB5?
CAS trips! As if we were a big family.
What is it that you will miss about them?
Their diverse characters. All of them have different characters which make the IB world here more exciting. Lewis – never knows what is a full stop. Aimran – a petite singer with a big voice. Ken Loon – always speechless. Akmal and Hakim – the best couple. Lol. Adlina – my best friend :P .

What is your most loving memory of IB 5?
Although IB 5 was comprised of such a diverse range of individuals and corresponding personalities, they went on to form amazingly close bonds with one another and, indeed, with my bunch! I think this says a lot about the extent to which they were – at the most basic and crucial level – utterly nice people, willing to accept each other’s idiosyncrasies and shortcomings.
What is it that you will miss about them?
I think I’ll simply miss having them around. It’s difficult for me to describe what I’ll miss specifically, because there is so much to celebrate about IB 5. If I was hard pressed for an answer, I’d say I’d miss their senses of humour, their bon vivant approach to all tasks and their quirkiness.
